The codes

Named the way the desk writes them.

An M57, an N57, a B58 or a 2JZ opens the family, then one photographed unit. These are the codes asked for every week.

M57 engines for sale

The M57 is the 2.5 and 3.0 turbo diesel straight six used in the E39, E46, E60, E65, E70 and E83. Workshops ask for the M57D30, the TU, and the TU2 535d. The same family is the donor most often crated for a Defender conversion.

N57 engines for sale

The N57 replaced the M57 in the F-series cars: F10 530d and 535d, F30 330d, and the X5 and X6. Single-turbo, twin-turbo and tri-turbo versions are listed by code, year and mileage, with the turbos described as fitted.

N47 and B47 diesel engines

The two-litre diesels are the units workshops replace most often. N47 covers the E90, E60, F30 and early X1. B47 is the modular successor in the G20, G30 and later X3. Both are stocked as complete engines, with the code and the chassis written on the listing.

B58, N55 and S58 petrol engines

Petrol buyers search the B58 in the 340i and 540i, the N55 in the F30 335i, and the S58 in the current M cars. Each listing names the code, the chassis it came from, and the extra parts still on the engine.

2JZ, RB26 and K24 engines

Demand outside BMW is concentrated on a few codes. Toyota 2JZ-GTE and 2JZ-GE, Nissan RB26, and Honda K24 are photographed and specified the same way as the BMW families, so a workshop can compare them without a second supplier.

Defender and Mitsubishi conversion kits

An M57 into a Defender, a 4M41 Mitsubishi kit, and BMW chassis swaps are sold as one package: donor, gearbox, mounts, adapter and the parts that make the engine belong in that bay. Send the chassis number before a kit is reserved.

How a unit is chosen.

Start with the engine code, not the badge on the boot. A 320d can be an N47 or a B47. A 530d can be an M57 or an N57. The listing on Engines For Sale names the code, the chassis it came from, the year and the mileage, then shows the unit in real photos taken in the yard.

Turbos, injectors and the sump are described as they are fitted. If something is missing, the page says so before the order. Eligible engines leave with 12 months of written cover from the delivery date, and an inspection certificate can travel with the crate when you ask for it.

Shipping is 249 euro on every order, added once and printed on the invoice. The pallet is sealed, strapped and sealed in film at Andreas Meyer Straße 38, Hamburg 22113. Orders confirmed before 14:00 CET on a working day can leave the same day.
